Member Safety

Safety & Protection Policy

IJNM is a ministry family — Brothers and Sisters in Christ. The safety and dignity of every member is non-negotiable.

Our Commitment

We are one body — Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Sexual harassment and sexual misconduct of any kind are completely incompatible with who we are in Jesus. We will not tolerate it.

If sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, physical violence, or manipulation occurs within any IJNM group or ministry context, it must be reported — to Ministry leadership and, where applicable, to civil authorities. We cooperate fully with law enforcement and strongly encourage all victims to do the same.

Our Ministers are trained to receive reports with confidentiality, compassion, and seriousness. No one will be dismissed or silenced. Every report is taken to the appropriate leadership and, when required, to local authorities.

If you have been harassed or are a victim of sexual misconduct: You are not alone. Please reach out to IJNM or contact local law enforcement. You deserve to be safe, believed, and supported.

More Ways We Keep Everyone Safe

Protecting one another goes beyond any single issue. These commitments guide every group, every leader, and every gathering.

Child & Youth Protection

Children and teens are never left one-on-one with a single unscreened adult. We hold to a two-adult standard for ministry with minors, and anyone serving youth is screened first.

Leadership Screening

Every Minister, Assistant Minister, and ministry volunteer completes a background check and a review process before serving. Leadership is a trust, held to a higher standard.

Reporting & Mandatory Reporting

Any abuse, neglect, or misconduct — not only sexual, can and should be reported. Where the law requires, including suspected harm to a child or vulnerable adult, we report to the proper authorities.

Safe Gatherings

Because we meet in homes and shared spaces, we keep gatherings open, accountable, and welcoming. Conduct that endangers or demeans anyone has no place among us.

Financial Integrity

Gifts are handled with transparency. Funds are counted and recorded by more than one person, and members have a voice in how resources are used.

Confidentiality & Dignity

Personal information and sensitive concerns are handled with discretion and care. Everyone is treated with the dignity of a brother or sister in Christ.
