It Starts With Three

"Where two or three gather in My name, there am I among them."

The early church began in homes and in the Temple courts — among a few ordinary believers committed to one another and to Christ. In Jesus’ Name Ministries follows that same pattern, in friendship with our neighboring churches.

A home church is simply a small group of Christians — family, friends, neighbors — who gather regularly to study Scripture, worship, pray, and care for one another. It’s not a church. It’s a gathering of Christians in a home. You don’t need to be a pastor. You don’t need a special building. You just need a heart for Jesus and a few people to walk with.

If you have three people and a living room, you have everything you need to begin.

What a Home Church Is
  • A few believers meeting in a home
  • Studying the Word together
  • Worshiping and praying as one
  • Caring for each other's needs
  • Small, personal, and real
How to Begin

Six Simple Steps to Start

You don't have to figure this out alone. Here's the path — and we walk it with you.

1

Gather a Few

Invite two or three others who love Jesus — family, friends, or neighbors. That's your seed.

2

Pick a Time & a Home

Choose a regular day and a living room, kitchen table, or porch to meet. Consistency matters more than size.

3

Choose a Minister

Select someone to lead and shepherd the group — or reach out to us and we’ll help you identify and train one.

4

Open the Word

Begin with Scripture, prayer, and worship together. Keep Jesus at the center; everything else follows.

5

Connect With the Ministry

Reach out to In Jesus’ Name Ministries. We’ll support you, provide resources, and connect you to the wider family.

6

Grow & Multiply

As your group grows, raise up new leaders, and help them start the next home church. One becomes many.

You’re Not Alone

How the Ministry Walks With You

Starting a home church under IJNM means you're never on your own. You're part of a connected, accountable family of churches.

Guidance & Training

We help you and your leaders grow along the pathway — Ally to Member to Assistant Minister to Minister — with teaching and support every step.

Doctrinal Integrity

Every IJNM group shares the same Statement of Faith, so the whole network stays anchored to Christ and Scripture.

Connection & Accountability

Monthly All-Ministry gatherings connect your group to the larger body for encouragement, oversight, and unity.

Shared Resources

As home churches grow, they pool resources to fund shared regional Ministry Buildings — no group carries the weight alone.

The Vision

From one home to many.

One home church becomes two. Two become ten. Across Lugoff, across Kershaw County, across South Carolina — a network of small, faithful gatherings, each one loving Jesus and worshiping Him together. That's the dream, and it begins with you saying yes.

Directing Your Gift

How to Mark Your Gift

Simply write the category on your check’s memo line or on a note with your envelope. Your gift goes exactly where you send it.

General

Keeps the lights on and the doors open — the everyday costs of ministry.

Building Fund

Constructing and maintaining shared Ministry Buildings for home churches in your region.

Tithing — For the Poor & Needy

Directed toward orphans, widows, and those in need in our community, as Scripture directs.

Church Vote Offering

A specific need approved by the congregation vote — write in what it’s for.

Name is optional You are not required to include your name with your gift. Anonymous giving is welcome and honored — the Lord sees. If you’d like a record for your records, include your address and we’ll send one.
How We Give

Four ways we give.

IJNM is funded by its members and clergy — not by corporate donors or outside institutions. Every dollar given here stays in the community of faith.

01

General Donations

Contributions from Members and Clergy toward essential operating expenses — electricity, water, rent, and other ministry bills. The foundation that keeps groups meeting.

02

Building Fund

Dedicated solely to constructing and maintaining Ministry Buildings. Home churches pool their resources to fund shared regional buildings — collectively, not corporately.

03

Tithing

Personal tithing is a biblical practice — giving proportionally from what God has provided. Tithes go toward orphans, widows, and those in need in our community, as Scripture directs.

04

Church Vote Offerings

Special offerings approved by the church body — for specific needs, projects, or outreach efforts. The congregation votes on how these funds are directed and used.

Sharing a building

We share a building.

No one home church carries the financial burden of a Ministry Building alone. Each home church contributes a flat amount per month toward shared building costs — making ownership and upkeep achievable for small communities.

This is the early church model: the body pools its resources so that no single member or family is overwhelmed, and the building serves everyone equally.

Example A Ministry Building with $500/month in operating costs (electricity, water, and other bills) is shared across 10 home churches — each contributing $50/month. Everyone gives a little; together, they sustain a lot.
Sample Building Budget
Electricity~$250/mo
Water~$100/mo
Other expenses~$150/mo
Total$500/mo
$50 /mo per church — shared across 10 home churches
Our Financial Principles

Honest with what’s given.

Here’s how we handle everything that’s given.

Transparency

  • All significant expenditures are reviewed and voted on by the church body
  • Members are informed how funds are used
  • No hidden fees or surprise charges

No-Pay Sanctification

  • Salvation and sanctification are gifts of God — they cannot be bought
  • No one is charged for spiritual growth, teaching, or ministry access
  • Giving is voluntary and spirit-led

Collective Ownership

  • Ministry Buildings belong to the community, not any individual
  • Each contributing home church has equal stake and access
  • Resources serve the whole body, not the few

Care for the Vulnerable

  • Tithing funds directed toward orphans, widows, and those in need
  • The community looks after its own and extends help outward
  • No member left behind due to financial hardship
Take the next step

Ready when you are.

Find a group, start one, or reach out — a Minister will walk it with you.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28
